Celebrating Father’s Day

St. Louis – June 19^th, 2022 – Happy Father’s Day to all the mortgage dads out there! Gershman Mortgage is proud to be YOUR local lender that hires the best and brightest in the mortgage industry, which at times, means we get to hire members of the same family!

The mortgage industry runs deep in the Mort family’s roots as Scott Mort, (Vice President, Encompass Operations) has been working for Gershman Mortgage collectively for 11 years, while having over 20 years of industry experience. His daughter, Lauren, 18, recently joined the Marketing department in February as an intern.

When asked about having the opportunity to work at the same company as her father, Lauren stated, “A lot of my childhood memories with my dad include going into the Clayton office for “Bring Your Kid to Work Day”. While I was there, I would make flyers for my basketball team that my dad coached, and now I am working in the office making flyers for Loan Officers. Gershman Mortgage has been something I grew up surrounded by- employees babysat me, I went to their kid’s birthday parties, and I have used Gershman Mortgage tumblers my whole life. I love working here, and sometimes walking into my dad’s office to ask mortgage related questions still feels like ‘Bring Your Kid to Work Day’.”

Since 1955, we have been lucky to have several employees that have shared their passion and interest of the mortgage industry with their children. Gershman Mortgage aspires to continue to be a business where family members have the opportunity to work together and assist local communities in achieving their homeownership for the next 67 years to come.
